Enterprise Edition Japan Proxy Server 2022 deployment plan (including Load Balancing and Disaster Recovery Design)
1. Essence: achieve high availability through multi-availability zone deployment + active monitoring to maximize business continuity;
2. Essence: Use hybrid L4/L7 load balancing and intelligent session stickiness strategy to improve concurrency and reduce latency;
3. Essence: The clearly designed disaster recovery design (RPO/RTO classification, cold/hot backup plan, drill process) minimizes the fault recovery time.
This article is aimed at enterprise users who need to use Japanese outbound IP as the core. It provides an original and practical deployment solution, covering network architecture, load balancing strategy, database and configuration synchronization, disaster recovery design, security compliance and operation and maintenance automation. It complies with Google EEAT principles and is written by a network architect with many years of practical experience in international networks and large proxy platforms.
1. Dismantling needs and goals: Clarifying business goals is the first priority. Goals may include: 1) Stably provide a proxy pool for Japanese export IP; 2) Support peak concurrent X TPS; 3) RPO ≤ 1 hour, RTO ≤ 30 minutes, etc. Combining these indicators, design SLA and select servers, bandwidth and multi-active/hot standby strategies accordingly.
2. Infrastructure overview: It is recommended to deploy in multiple availability zones (or multiple ISP computer rooms) in at least two places in Japan: the front end uses elastic L4 (such as LVS or cloud vendor elastic LB) to be responsible for connection distribution, and L7 uses NGINX/HAProxy for HTTP/HTTPS reverse proxy and routing. The core agent node is placed in a private network, and management and monitoring are isolated through independent management network segments.
3. Load Balancing Design points: Front-end L4 is responsible for quintuple scheduling to ensure connection forwarding efficiency; L7 is responsible for intelligent routing, SSL offloading, speed limiting and circuit breaker based on URI, Header or Cookie. Session-sensitive scenarios use sticky sessions or store state in a distributed cache (such as Redis) to achieve stateless backend scaling.
4. Agent pool and IP management: The enterprise version should support dynamic scheduling of IP pools, label IPs according to business dimensions, and provide priority and health scoring mechanisms. The implementation method can use the Sidecar process to monitor the health of the export IP and report it to the central distribution strategy. If necessary, it can automatically eliminate bad IPs and trigger the replenishment process.
5. Data and configuration synchronization: Agent configuration, routing tables, and black and white lists need to be delivered through the configuration management system (such as Ansible/SaltStack). Key runtime data are bidirectionally synchronized to the active and backup configuration warehouses to ensure that any node can take over quickly.
6. Disaster recovery design (DR) layering: It is recommended to adopt a hybrid strategy of "near backup + remote backup". Nearby backup (different computer rooms in the same city) is used to achieve second-level failover, and remote backup (cross-regional or foreign data centers) is used for disaster recovery. The database adopts master-slave or semi-synchronous replication, and multi-active writing and conflict resolution strategies can be adopted for key businesses.
7. Backup and recovery strategy: Combine full snapshot + incremental log, set different retention strategies. Develop backup frequencies and verification processes for agent session logs, configuration snapshots, and key databases to ensure RPO standards are met. Recovery drills need to be performed regularly and included in SOPs.
8. Security and compliance: Export proxies involve privacy and compliance risks. It is recommended to implement the principle of least privilege, use bastion hosts to control operation and maintenance SSH, enforce TLS on external interfaces, and encrypt and store sensitive logs. Enable WAF and DDoS protection, normalize vulnerability scanning and patch management.
9. Monitoring and alarming: Core indicators include the number of connections, concurrent sessions, CPU/memory, export IP health, uplink and downlink bandwidth, error rate and delay. It is recommended to use Prometheus+Grafana to build the monitoring panel, and ELK/Opensearch for log aggregation; key alarms support automated work orders and SMS/Slack notifications.
10. Traffic scheduling and QoS: Implement differentiated bandwidth and priority for different business lines. Guaranteed bandwidth can be reserved for key services and non-critical traffic can be downgraded through traffic shaping during peak times to ensure core SLA.
11. Operation and maintenance automation and CI/CD: Configurations, certificates and policies are automatically verified and pushed through the CI pipeline. Changes must gradually take effect after regression testing in the grayscale environment. Implement blue-green/grayscale publishing to reduce online risks.
12. Testing and drills: Develop monthly/quarterly Failover drill plans, covering single node failure, computer room downtime, database master/backup switchover, network partition and other scenarios. The drill results are incorporated into KPIs and continuously improved.
13. Cost and selection suggestions: Choose self-built computer rooms or cloud resources as needed. Cloud products have advantages in elasticity, global IP pools, and DDoS capabilities; self-built products can have better long-term costs and have stricter control over IP sources. Estimate bandwidth and instance specifications based on concurrency peaks and packet return rates, and reserve 30%-50% redundancy.
14. Risks and Mitigation Measures: Monitor IP ban risks, traffic anomalies and legal compliance changes. Establish a rapid rollback mechanism, IP replacement strategy and legal communication channels to avoid large-scale business interruption caused by a single exit being blocked.
Conclusion: This solution is a set of enterprise-level Japan proxy server deployment blueprint that combines load balancing and strict disaster recovery design to achieve high availability and operability while ensuring performance and security. During the implementation process, it is necessary to coordinate with the network, legal affairs, and business parties, and achieve a steady state through repeated drills.
